The kit contains all the components needed for the modification. – Fuse Holder, Fuse, wire pre-assembled with connectors, screw, wire lug, cable ties. Details… The kit protects the Quad winding inside the generator head as well as the A1 AC Voltage Regulator. Thousands MEP-802A & MEP-803A’s were produced and fielded. After the generators were fielded an error in the design of the generators Voltage Regulator was found after many fielded generators started to fail causing severe damage to the generator head rendering it unusable. Some of the generators were updated when they went thru refurbishment to correct the error. Many were not and are sold at surplus without this critical update. Without the “Fuse Mod” installed the A1 Voltage Regulator can fail causing the Quad Winding inside the generator head to burn out. Once burned out it requires replacing the entire stator assembly.
